CCD Imaging from the UK

Although the vast majority of my astronomical imaging is now carried out at dark sites abroad, I've recently been inspired by the excellent work being done by British amateurs, such as Ian King, Adrian Catterall and members of the UK CCD Group. In most cases, using Hydrogen Alpha filters, it's possible to negate the scourge of light-pollution and moonlight to produce good images. Below is a selection of images taken recently using a Starlight Xpress SXV-H9 CCD camera attached to a Pentax 75mm f/6.6 apochromatic refractor. These are mounted on a Vixen GP-DX equatorial head, itself mounted on a BC&F Astro-Engineering pier. Colour files are taken using a True Technology manual filter wheel and RGB filters. The H-Alpha filter is by Astronomik. Autoguiding is achieved using my venerable SBIG ST-4 and a separate guide-scope.
