Teide Observatory
A recent visit to the Teide Observatory on Tenerife turned out to be very enjoyable and paved the way for future visits to dark sites that are easier to reach than La Palma. Although the equipment used was fairly basic we were able to try out and review one of the new AstroTrac mounts (see Astronomy Now Aug 07), which proved to be an ideal accessory to take abroad to dark sky locations.
