The latest visit to the island of La Palma in the Canaries turned out to be a very strange experience! A violent storm system had settled over the mountain top and dumped about 12" snow on the Observatory site. Although planning to observe for seven nights we were treated to only one clear night! The pictures below show some of the highlights of the trip. The astronomical images were taken using a Nikon FM2 SLR, Kodak Elite Chrome 200 ISO film, 50mm Nikkor lens, all driven on a Vixen GP mount. The daytime pictures were taken using Fuji Velvia 50 ISO film.
