A view of the Visitor Information Station near Hale Pohaku, at 9,300 ft). This service is run by a small core staff and volunteers to provide information and observing facilities to visitors. Outside is an 11" Celestron SCT fitted with a white-light solar filter (behind this scope on the same mount is also a small refractor showing H-alpha views of the Sun). Regular star parties are held here under the superb skies and a large selection of posters, T-shirts, postcards etc are available to purchase. Our thanks go to the warm welcome we received from all at the Visitor Station.
