The  James Clerk Maxwell Submillimetre Telescope The United Kingdom Infrared Telescope

In June 2003 we travelled to the Observatory complex on the summit of Mauna Kea, Hawaii, to acquire public relations material as part of a PPARC Public Understanding of Science Grant. This photographic and video material will be used to promote the science carried out by telescopes at the Observatory site, with particular emphasis on the United Kingdom's two main telescopes, the James Clerk Maxwell Submillimetre Telescope and the UK Infrared Telescope. A sequence of lectures throughout the next year will describe the telescopes and site with further public-relations material shown via DVD video footage. Click on the thumbnail images below to view some of the pictures taken at the Observatory. All material is copyright of Nik Szymanek.
