Welcome to Nik Szymanek's Astronomy Web Site. Here you will find details of my activities in astronomy and CCD imaging. As is the case with most of the UK we suffer from terrible light pollution and to get the most from my equipment I travel to La Palma, one of the Canary Islands off the coast of West Africa. From there I can image from one of the best sites in the northern hemisphere and work alongside the domes of the UK's premier telescopes. Use the links below to navigate to pages containing the latest images and astrophotographs. A trip to the Observatory at Mauna Kea, Hawaii, was a huge success and you can see the results of that using the "Images from Hawaii" link below.

For the last few years I've been processing images taken with the Isaac Newton Group of telescopes at La Palma . Look at these pages for some stunning CCD images. Also here is a page showing images taken by the JKT at La Palma that I've processed for the ING Heritage Project. This is an ongoing project and we hope to add more images as they become available.
